About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Located in East Greenwich off Potowomut Road, this boat ramp provides hand-carried and small vessel access to Greenwich Bay and the Potowomut River system. From Route 1 south of downtown, take Essex Road east for 0.4 miles, then turn left onto Potowomut Road; the ramp is 0.3 miles ahead on your left. The site is well-suited for sea kayaks and canoes.

**Paddling Conditions & Nearby Waters:** This is an exposed beach launch, so expect wind and wave action even during typical summer conditions. Once launched, paddlers can explore north around Potowomut Point into Greenwich Bay or head south into the Potowomut River (locally known as Greene's River), which connects to the Hunt River system. The site offers access to protected and open water paddling opportunities within Narragansett Bay. Nearby, the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve encompasses multiple islands and surrounding waters worth exploring for more adventurous trips.
