Located 2.5 miles west of Divide near Butte, the Powerhouse access site offers a well-maintained single-wide concrete boat ramp and expanded parking area, making it a reliable launch point for the Big Hole River. This is one of seven paved access sites among Montana's 14 official Big Hole River access points, providing good conditions for both motorboats and paddlers. The site is situated in a scenic area near the Humbug Spires Wilderness Study Area, featuring impressive granite formations.
The Powerhouse ramp is particularly useful during spring high water when upstream primitive ramps may be less accessible. Paddlers and boaters should note that the Big Hole River has significant seasonal flow variations, so water conditions can vary considerably throughout the year. The nearby Divide Bridge Campground offers overnight accommodation options within 10 miles of the launch.
