Prairie View Lake offers a scenic 42-acre no-wake boating destination in Bennington, just south of Highway 36. The lake is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats (5HP or less), with a dedicated boat ramp for easy access. The area features restrooms and picnic facilities, making it a convenient spot for a paddling outing or fishing trip. The lake is stocked with bluegill, crappie, catfish, and catch-and-release bass.
Beyond the water, the recreation area includes a 2.5-mile limestone trail with three pedestrian bridges that's perfect for pre- or post-paddling exploration. The park is open year-round from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily and offers day-use access. If you're planning an extended trip, Cunningham Lake Dam Site 11 Campground is located within 10 miles, and nearby Zorinsky Lake and Glenn Cunningham Lake provide additional recreation options in the region.
