About This Access Site
Presque Isle Lake is a 1,165-acre lake in Vilas County offering excellent public access via this boat ramp. The lake features a paved, barrier-free boat ramp designed to accommodate kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. With very clear water and a maximum depth of 103 feet, the lake provides good conditions for paddling and exploration.
The lake supports a healthy fishery including Musky, Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and Panfish, making it popular with anglers. Two reservable campgrounds—Henry Lake Camp and Moosehead Lake Camp—are located within 10 miles, offering convenient overnight options for paddlers planning extended trips.
This is an ideal launch point for day trips or longer paddles in the Vilas County area. The clear water and substantial size make it suitable for both beginner and experienced paddlers, though typical precautions for larger inland lakes should be observed.
