Pulaski County Park #2 provides convenient public access to Lake Cumberland via Fishing Creek near Somerset. The facility features a recently upgraded boat ramp—widened in 2016—plus a courtesy dock, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger boats. The large, easily accessible waterfront area is well-maintained for paddlers and other water enthusiasts.
Located on Lake Cumberland, a 100-mile-long reservoir created by Wolf Creek Dam on the Cumberland River, this access point offers calm flatwater conditions ideal for paddlers of all skill levels. The broader lake environment provides excellent opportunities for fishing, with multiple fish species commonly caught in these waters. To reach the park from Somerset, take KY 80 West, then turn right onto Pulaski County Water Park Road approximately 2 miles past the Fishing Creek bridge.
The site is part of a larger recreation area with additional amenities including swimming beach, hiking and biking trails, disc golf, and nearby campground options. If you're planning an extended trip, Fishing Creek Campground and Waitsboro Campground (both reservable) are located within 10 miles of the access point.
