About This Access Site
Quinn River provides boat ramp access to Crane Prairie Reservoir, a 4,940-acre lake located on the western shore along the Cascade Lakes Highway, approximately 50 miles southwest of Bend. This is a day-use facility with a boat ramp, gravel trailer parking lot, picnic tables, and restroom facilities. A $5 vehicle fee or valid recreation pass is required for parking. Note that water levels fluctuate seasonally—recent reports indicate the reservoir runs approximately 8 feet below the ramp bottom at certain times, so check current conditions before launching.

Crane Prairie Reservoir is renowned for its excellent rainbow trout fishery and supports a variety of boating activities. The lake features 24 miles of shoreline ideal for kayaking and canoeing. A strict 10 mph speed limit makes this a relatively peaceful paddling environment. Adjacent Quinn River Campground (reservable through Recreation.gov, 541-323-1746) offers overnight options, and multiple other campgrounds are located within 10 miles. The site is well-suited for both day trips and multi-day paddling expeditions in the scenic Central Oregon Cascades.
