About This Access Site
The Raccoon Mountain Boat Ramp provides access to Nickajack Lake, part of the Tennessee River system, near Chattanooga, Tennessee. This launch site is located at mile marker 444.4 on the south side of the river, approximately 8.9 miles downstream from the Suck Creek Boat Ramp.

Nickajack Lake is a wide, slow-moving section of the Tennessee River, with depths ranging from 15-30 feet. The lake is popular with recreational boaters, anglers, and paddlers. The Raccoon Mountain Ramp offers a paved, single-lane launch area suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small to medium-sized powerboats. Parking is available, though the lot size may be limited.

Paddlers should be prepared for the potential of wind and boat traffic on the wider lake sections of the river.
