About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Redfield Dam Access is located on the Middle Raccoon River in Redfield, Dallas County, just upstream from where the Middle and North Raccoon Rivers meet. The site features a paved concrete boat ramp and large gravel parking area, positioned immediately north of Bridge Street (Thomas Street provides vehicle access from Highway 6). The access point is situated below the low-head dam and at the southern edge of an 88-acre wildlife refuge.

**For Paddlers & Boaters**
This is a protected water area designated as part of Iowa's Water Trail program, making it an excellent access point for kayakers and canoeists exploring the Middle Raccoon River. The developed facilities and convenient parking make it ideal for launching trips on this relatively gentle section of river. Navigation signage is posted on bridges throughout the area to help paddlers track distances between access points.
