Richmond Lake Recreation Area's Boat Ramp Unit offers convenient access to South Richmond Lake, a scenic 1,000+ acre water body ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. Located at the eastern section of the park near the dam, two dedicated boat launch ramps accommodate vessels of all sizes—from kayaks and canoes to larger fishing and pontoon boats. The ramps are well-maintained and designed to handle various watercraft types.
Beyond the water access, the recreation area provides comprehensive amenities for a full day outing, including a 24-site campground, camping cabin, beach, and picnic areas. A 3.2-mile multiuse trail is available for land-based recreation. The lake is known for strong fishing opportunities and calm water conditions suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels. The south unit's proximity to parking and facilities makes it an accessible choice for launching and retrieving boats. Additional recreational options exist in the Forest Drive Unit, including scenic drives, trails, and an 18-hole disc golf course.
