River Trail Park in Luling offers convenient access to the San Marcos River with excellent amenities for paddlers and boaters. The park features a 3/8-mile river frontage with free vehicle and trailer parking at both put-in and take-out areas, allowing easy boat launching from the gravel bar near the parking area. Three covered picnic tables and swimming access are also available. This location serves as the primary entry point for the Luling-Zedler Mill Paddling Trail, making it ideal for kayaking and canoeing trips downstream.
**Important note:** Reservations must be made with San Marcos River Retreat before visiting, and access is open from 30 minutes before sunrise. All vehicles and trailers must park in designated areas only. If parking near the pedestrian bridge by the stage, walk downriver along the trail on river right to access the water—the path passes under the Hopkins Street bridge and continues to a railroad bridge where you can wade in.
