Riverside

The recently rebuilt Riverside Boat Ramp provides convenient access to the Wicomico River just outside downtown Salisbury. Located on Riverside Drive (take Mill Street from downtown, then right at the circle), the ramp features a paved parking area and is ideal for kayakers and canoeists looking to explore the river's mid-section, as well as motorboaters. This is one of six public boat ramps on the Wicomico River.

From this launch point, paddlers can access a variety of paddling options—from shorter excursions on nearby Schumaker Pond to longer downstream trips toward the river's mouth. The Wicomico is a moderate-sized tidal river suitable for various skill levels. Check current water conditions and tide information before launching, as tidal influence is significant this far upriver. The ramp's central location on the river makes it a practical starting point for both day trips and longer expeditions.
