Riverside provides a public boat access point on the Okanogan River in the town of Riverside, Okanogan County. The site features a concrete boat launch with dedicated parking, restrooms, and ADA-accessible facilities. The access area is open year-round, making it a reliable put-in location for kayakers and canoeists exploring this section of the river.
**Important paddling considerations:** This access point marks an upstream limit for downstream travel—paddlers cannot proceed downstream of Riverside due to rocks, shallows, and rapids that make navigation hazardous. This site is best suited for launching upstream paddles or as a take-out point from upper river sections. The Okanogan River has additional access points at Monse Bridge, the town of Okanogan, Omak Stampede Grounds, and Tonasket, providing multiple options for trip planning. Bank fishing is also available at this location.
**Access directions:** From Omak, take US 97 north for 6.4 miles, turn right on Kendall Street for 0.25 mile, then right on Cooper Street to reach the site at road's end. Alternatively, from downtown Riverside, turn east on River Avenue from 1st or 2nd Street, then continue to Tyee Street to reach the launch area with covered shelter and benches.
