About This Access Site
Riverview Park offers a public boat ramp providing access to the Mississippi River near Montrose in Lee County. Located within a well-developed 65-acre park, the facility includes a marina, restaurant, and various recreational amenities. The boat launch and docks are typically operational from March 15 through December. To use the ramp as a non-resident, be aware that limited non-resident passes (50 available) require a valid driver's license and vehicle registration with matching addresses.

The Mississippi River at this location is a major waterway with significant flow and current. Paddlers and boaters should expect strong average velocities of approximately 11 feet per second with an average flow of 685,000+ cubic feet per second. The river's shallow gradient of 0.8 feet per mile characterizes this section as a relatively low-gradient, high-volume channel typical of the lower Mississippi. Conditions can vary seasonally and with weather; always check current water levels and flow rates before launching, and exercise caution given the river's size and commercial traffic.
