About This Access Site
The Rockingham boat ramp provides access to the Pee Dee River, a major waterway in North Carolina's Piedmont region. This launch site is located about 9 miles north of the US 74 and NC 109 intersection, just before the Pee Dee River bridge.

The Pee Dee River is a substantial, free-flowing river with an average flow of over 9,000 cubic feet per second. At this location, the river has an average gradient of 3.2 feet per mile and a total elevation drop of 210 feet over its 65-mile length. These characteristics make the Pee Dee River a popular destination for paddlers and motorized boaters alike.

Boaters should be aware that there is a dam at Blewett Falls Lake upstream, with no portage trail around it. Additionally, water levels can fluctuate significantly, so it's important to check river conditions before launching. Overall, the Rockingham boat ramp provides reliable access to explore this sizeable Piedmont river system.
