About This Access Site
Rockport Beach Park offers a well-maintained two-lane concrete ramp with excellent paved parking, making it an accessible launch point for kayakers and boaters accessing Aransas Bay. The ramp is notably protected from wind and waves, providing easy launch and recovery conditions. A daily park admission fee of $5 (or $20 annual pass) provides access to additional amenities including restrooms, cleaning tables, and a fishing pier.

Paddlers should be aware that while the ramp itself is sheltered, the channel exiting to Aransas Bay faces southeast and can experience the brunt of prevailing winds and waves, which may make navigation to open water more challenging. The site provides excellent access to productive fishing habitat for redfish, black drum, and speckled trout. Located on the scenic Lamar Peninsula near the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve, this is an ideal launch for exploring Aransas Bay's diverse coastal environment.
