About This Access Site
Roosevelt Park offers a convenient public boat launch on Lake Umatilla (the John Day Reservoir), a large impoundment of the Columbia River near Roosevelt, Washington. The ramp is located at the day-use area and includes docking facilities for easy water access. This is one of four primary boat launch locations on Lake Umatilla, making it a reliable option for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring this section of the river.

The lake supports excellent fishing for sturgeon, steelhead, salmon, shad, walleye, and Chinook, and visitors also use the area for boating, water sports, and swimming. As a federal facility managed under the John Day Lock and Dam recreation area, Roosevelt Park does not require reservations. The site provides straightforward access to a stable, reservoir-style waterway ideal for paddlers of various skill levels.
