This access point provides launch facilities for Ruby Lake Marsh, a vast 40,048-acre wetland ecosystem located in one of Nevada's most remote areas. Situated in the scenic Ruby Valley near Elko County, the marsh offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing in a pristine natural setting flanked by the rugged Ruby Mountains to the west. The shallow marsh environment is popular for wildlife viewing and supports populations of trout and largemouth bass.
**Practical Information:** No special permits or reservations are required to launch at this site. A nearby campground (South Ruby Campground, reservable) is available within 10 miles for those planning overnight trips. Be aware that this is a labyrinth-like marsh system that requires careful navigation, particularly for drift boats. A no-hunting zone is in effect immediately around the boat landing. The area is best accessed spring through early summer, though conditions should be verified before your visit. This is a remote location, so come prepared with supplies and local knowledge of marsh navigation.
