Ruritan Lake

Ruritan Lake offers a convenient boat ramp access point for paddlers and small boaters on North Fork Cunningham Creek in Fluvanna County, Virginia. The concrete boat ramp, though steep, provides access to the 51-acre lake. Anglers and recreational boaters can launch kayaks, canoes, and small motorized vessels from this public access site.

To reach the Ruritan Lake boat ramp, travel south from US-15 in Palmyra for 0.4 miles, then turn right onto VA-53 West towards Cunningham. In Cunningham, look for signs for the Public Fishing Lake and follow them to the left turn onto State Route 619/Ruritan Lake Road. The ramp and parking area will be on your right.

North Fork Cunningham Creek is a small, low-gradient tributary that feeds into the James River system. The creek and Ruritan Lake provide opportunities for peaceful paddling, fishing, and nature observation within a rural, wooded setting.
