About This Access Site
**Boat Launch & Access**
Rye Patch offers multiple boat ramp options for kayakers and boaters accessing the Humboldt River Reservoir. The primary access is a double-lane boat ramp with dock located on the reservoir's west side near the campground, offering the most convenient launch point. An additional single-lane ramp is available about a half-mile further down the road, complete with fish cleaning facilities and covered picnic areas. For those approaching from the north, a single-lane ramp is located 10 miles away at Pitt Taylor.

**Facilities & Recreation**
The recreation area provides good amenities including restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and grills at multiple locations. The reservoir spans 72 miles of shoreline and offers peaceful paddling through scenic desert landscape with abundant wildlife viewing opportunities (hawks, eagles, deer, owls). The area is popular for fishing walleye, catfish, and bass, and features hiking trails throughout the park. Cell reception is available in the campground area.

**Location Context**
Rye Patch Reservoir is situated on the Humboldt River approximately 26 miles upstream from Lovelock, Nevada, in Pershing County. The impoundment created by Rye Patch Dam offers relatively calm, protected water suitable for recreational paddling and boating.
