S-65 South (Highway 60)

S-65 South provides excellent access to the Kissimmee River in Polk County, located conveniently off Highway 60 at River Ranch. This ramp offers good to excellent conditions and provides access to the northern section of the river upstream of Water Control Structure 65 and its associated boat lock. The freshwater Kissimmee River in this area is ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and recreational boating, with the ramp serving as a gateway to the expansive Kissimmee River Public Use Area.

From this access point, paddlers can explore the northern stretches of the river corridor, which spans over 30,000 acres along the Kissimmee River from SR 60 southward. The ramp's location at the northern end of the property makes it a popular starting point for day trips and longer expeditions. For those interested in exploring additional sections of the river, including areas south of the water control structure, alternative ramps such as the S-65E access (located on Underhill Road) or the private Kissimmee River Fishing Resort may be considered, though they serve different sections of the waterway.
