S-65D is a boat ramp providing access to the Kissimmee River in Highlands County, Florida. Located upstream of Water Control Structure 65 and its associated boat lock, this access point offers a good to excellent ramp condition for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The ramp is positioned to allow paddlers to explore the northern/upstream sections of the river system.
The Kissimmee River in this area is a freshwater waterway where paddlers should watch for bluegill beds in the shallows during spring and summer months. The surrounding area includes scenic marsh habitat typical of central Florida. Nearby recreational opportunities include Yates Marsh, which features a section of the Florida Trail accessible by car.
