About This Access Site
This boat ramp provides access to the Saco River above the dam in Dayton. The ramp itself allows relatively easy loading and unloading of boats at a field and parking area. However, access to the actual put-in requires a walk along an unmarked and poorly maintained portage route—you'll need to walk up the dam road, down a hill, and follow a dirt path and river trail to reach the water. Plan extra time for this approach and wear appropriate footwear.

Paddlers should be aware that this access point is located above a dam on a section of the Saco River. The river in this area has mile markers to help with navigation. Exercise caution around strainers and fallen trees, and avoid tying boats together or towing inflatables, as these are more prone to catching on obstacles. Check current water conditions before paddling, as dam-controlled sections can have variable flows.
