Saco Yacht Club

The Saco Yacht Club provides a small-craft boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and other recreational vessels onto the Saco River. The access point is located in downtown Saco near Front Street, with trailer parking available on the compact lot.

Access to the ramp requires walking from the parking area via the dam road, then down a hill to a dirt road and riverside path—note that this portage route is not well-marked or maintained. Paddlers should be aware that this is a private yacht club facility, so checking club policies or requesting permission before launching is recommended. The nearby Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge offers excellent paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities, and a boatyard is located just 0.2 miles downstream on the south side of the river near Biddeford, which may be useful for those needing service or information about conditions.
