Sahara Lake is a 98-acre lake located near Carrier Mills in Saline County, offering a handicap-accessible boat ramp perfect for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. The access site includes a paved parking lot and restroom facilities, making it a convenient launching point for paddlers. The lake welcomes "carry-in" boats such as canoes and kayaks, and is stocked with largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, redear, and channel catfish for anglers.

**Important Motor Restrictions:** Note that Sahara Lake enforces a 10 horsepower or less motor restriction, with all other areas requiring electric motors only. This makes it an ideal, quieter destination for paddlers seeking a peaceful experience. The site is located adjacent to Shawnee National Forest, providing access to a scenic area with additional outdoor recreation opportunities.
