About This Access Site
Located on Riverside Drive in Tiverton, this access point features two concrete plank boat ramps providing convenient launch facilities for the Sakonnet River, Sakonnet Harbor, and Rhode Island Sound. The ramp is positioned just north of the historic stone bridge abutments, which now serve as a pier—a notable local landmark. A dedicated parking area supports the launch facility, making this a practical starting point for paddlers and boaters exploring the lower Sakonnet River and its tidal waters.

This access site offers good positioning for exploring the Sakonnet River's brackish and marine environments. Paddlers can access the wider harbor areas and connect to Rhode Island Sound, making it suitable for both shorter river paddles and more extended coastal trips. The nearby Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and the historic character of the area add recreational value. Note that Teddy's Beach, a small state beach, is located nearby on the south side of the old bridge abutment, providing an additional recreation opportunity in the immediate vicinity.
