About This Access Site
Salsbury Point Park offers one of the few public water access points on the Kitsap side of Hood Canal, located at the end of Whitford Road between Port Gamble and the Hood Canal Bridge. The boat ramp is suitable for vessels up to approximately 25 feet, with gravel and sand approach areas at low tide. Parking for trucks and trailers is conveniently located near the dock, and the well-maintained grounds include trash receptacles throughout the property.

**Important considerations:** Swift currents at the boat ramp dock can sweep boats into the docks, so exercise caution when launching and landing. The park features an automatic sprinkler system on the lawn—avoid parking or camping on the grass. Kayakers and canoeists should be aware of Hood Canal's tidal influences and current patterns in this area. Additional nearby public ramps include W.R. Hicks County Park on Shine Road and the ramp at the west end of the Hood Canal Bridge, providing alternatives if conditions are unfavorable at Salsbury Point.
