Sam Israel

Sam Israel is a boat ramp providing year-round access to Lake Lenore, located near Soap Lake in Grant County. The site includes a single parking lot and restroom facility, making it a functional launching point for paddlers and boaters exploring this unique alkaline lake. The ramp is the first access point when approaching from Soap Lake, with shore access available for anglers near the launch area.

Lake Lenore is best known for its highly alkaline waters and excellent fishing opportunities for Lahontan Cutthroat Trout, with some fish exceeding 30 inches—particularly during fall months. The lake is most effectively fished from boats, canoes, float tubes, or pontoon boats, making it well-suited for paddlers. Camping is allowed in the area, adding to the recreational appeal for multi-day trips. Note that this is a fairly remote access point without ADA facilities, so plan accordingly before your visit.
