Sand Hollow State Park offers excellent boating and paddling opportunities on the scenic Sand Hollow Reservoir. The main boat ramp provides easy access to the 1,322-acre reservoir, which is known for its warm, clear waters and stunning red rock backdrop.
Kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats will find plenty of space to explore the reservoir. The waters are generally calm, making it a great spot for beginner and intermediate paddlers. Anglers will appreciate the reservoir's healthy populations of bass, crappie, and other game fish.
While the boat ramp is the primary access point, there are also several sandy beaches and shoreline areas that paddlers can use to launch their craft. Be aware that the reservoir can get busy, especially on summer weekends, so arriving early is recommended to secure a parking spot. Facilities at the park include a campground, off-highway vehicle trails, and other recreational amenities to complement your time on the water.
