About This Access Site
The Sandy Point boat ramp provides easy access to Bucks Lake for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. The ramp is located within the Sundew Campground, a reservable campground operated by the US Forest Service.

The boat ramp offers ample parking and is well-suited for launching small watercraft. Bucks Lake is a scenic high-mountain lake surrounded by the Bucks Lake Wilderness, offering excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. The lake has multiple boat ramps around its shores, including the public Sandy Point ramp, the Bucks Lake Marina ramp, and the Lakeshore Resort ramp.

Visitors should note that the Sundew Campground where the Sandy Point ramp is located is a reservable facility, so advance planning is recommended, especially during peak seasons. There are also several other campgrounds within 10 miles of the Sandy Point access point. The Bucks Lake area provides a variety of recreational opportunities beyond just boating, including hiking, swimming, and winter sports like snowmobiling and skiing.
