Sarge Creek

Sarge Creek is a convenient access point on Kaw Lake, the impoundment of the Arkansas River in north central Oklahoma near Kaw City. The facility features a dedicated boat ramp along with a full-service campground offering 53 campsites with electric hookups, water, and flush toilets. This is an ideal base for paddlers and boaters planning to spend time on the lake, with shaded campsites and nearby amenities including drinking water facilities.

Located approximately 3–4 miles east of Kaw City on Highway 11 (follow campground signs), Sarge Creek provides good lake access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Kaw Lake is known for excellent catfish and crappie fishing and offers calm, scenic paddling. The campground is reservable year-round; contact the facility at 580-762-5611 for site availability and current conditions. Note that while the campground itself is not ADA accessible, the boat ramp provides straightforward water entry for most vessel types.

Recreation
The lake and river are known for producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish, as well as crappie, white bass and walleye, making it a popular destination for anglers.

Hikers and horseback riders are attracted to the beautiful trails along the eastern shore. The Eagle View Hiking Trail is approximately 12 miles long and runs between Osage Cove and Burbank Landing.
The Five Fingers Equestrian Trail extends from the Sarge Creek Cove Public Use Area to Burbank Landing.

Hunters' skills are tested with excellent populations of whitetail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit and squirrel. During the fall waterfowl seasons Kaw Lake often attracts large numbers of migrating ducks and geese.

During the winter visitors are likely to spot migrating bald eagles, as Kaw Lake has one of the biggest populations in the state. Facilities
