About This Access Site
Sawyer Bluff is a public boat ramp access site located on the Kiamichi River, just upstream of Hugo Lake in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. This ramp provides a convenient put-in point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats to access the scenic Kiamichi River and explore Hugo Lake.

The boat ramp is a concrete, two-lane design with a small dock. Nearby, there is primitive camping available at the Group Camp site, about 10 miles away. The Kiamichi River at this location is relatively wide and slow-moving, making it well-suited for leisurely paddling trips. Boaters should be aware of fluctuating water levels due to the upstream Hugo Lake dam.

The Hugo Lake area is known for excellent crappie fishing, both in the main lake and in the tailwaters below the dam. Anglers can access the lake and river from several public boat ramps managed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Whether you're paddling, fishing, or just enjoying the scenic river setting, Sawyer Bluff provides a convenient launch point to access the Kiamichi River and Hugo Lake.
