Scioto River - Lower Scioto Park and Boat Launch

Located in Columbus, this concrete boat ramp (approximately 30 feet wide) provides convenient access to the Scioto River, a major central Ohio waterway. The launch is situated at Lower Scioto Park, which features parking areas suitable for both trailer boats and smaller watercraft. The facility provides access to a scenic section of river with good opportunities for bird watching and wildlife viewing along the park's trails.

**Important Navigation Note:** Paddlers and boaters should plan to travel **north/upriver** from this launch point, as a lowhead dam located downriver prevents travel in that direction. The accessible paddling section extends from the Greenlawn Dam upstream to the Main Street Dam. A peninsula near the water's edge may obstruct some views when launching, so be aware of your surroundings as you enter the water. This makes Lower Scioto Park an ideal starting point for northbound paddling trips on the Scioto River.
