About This Access Site
Scooteney Park offers a well-developed boat access point on Scooteney Reservoir, a 925-acre impoundment near Connell in Franklin County. The Bureau of Reclamation campground features multiple boat ramps, a small dock, and full facilities including toilets and picnic areas, making it convenient for day trips or extended stays. The northern portion of the reservoir where the launch is located spans approximately 425 acres, with an additional 260-acre southern section separated by a flood gate.

Paddlers and boaters should be aware that water levels fluctuate considerably due to flood gate operations at the south end, so it's wise to proceed slowly when first launching until you're familiar with current conditions. The reservoir is known for good fishing year-round, with populations of walleye, bass, bluegill, crappie, and yellow perch, and it's a popular winter destination for ice fishing. Located about 13 miles southeast of Othello off Highway 17, this scenic desert access point provides a quiet recreational opportunity in an otherwise arid landscape of eastern Washington.
