Scottons Landing

**Location & Access:** Scottons Landing, located near Magnolia in Kent County, provides boat ramp access to the Saint Jones River. The facility features a newly reconstructed boat ramp and an L-shaped courtesy dock that allows for easier maneuvering and temporary mooring while retrieving vehicles. A repaved parking lot accommodates multiple vehicles and trailers.

**Ideal For:** This access point is excellent for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters looking to explore the lower Saint Jones River and the adjacent Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR). The courtesy dock makes launching and retrieving easier, particularly in tidal conditions. The site provides gateway access to over 6,000 acres of protected estuarine habitat including tidal salt marshes, freshwater wetlands, and nearby Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge.

**Planning Your Visit:** As a recently renovated facility (completed in 2023), Scottons Landing is the primary access point for this section of river. Alternative boat ramps in the area include Lebanon Landing, also on the Saint Jones River near Magnolia, and the launch at Bowers Beach.
