Searsport Harbor offers a convenient public boat ramp located at the town landing near the end of Steamboat Avenue, just east of the main harbor. The facility features a hard-surface launch ramp with floating docks and nearby vehicle parking. A launching fee is required to use the ramp. For questions about harbor conditions or assistance, the Harbor Master's office is located adjacent to the ramp.
The harbor provides good protection and holding ground in Long Cove (approximately 25 feet deep) except during southwest winds. This is a working harbor with active boat traffic, so shore fishing is not permitted off the dock. The facility is well-suited for small craft, kayaks, canoes, and motorboats seeking access to the coastal waters around Searsport. The location also places paddlers near the charming town of Searsport, home to the Penobscot Maritime Museum.
