Shadehill West Public Water Access

Shadehill West offers a boat ramp on the North Fork Grand River at Shadehill Reservoir, a 4,800-acre impoundment in northwestern South Dakota's Perkins County. The ramp provides access to extensive waters with approximately 65 miles of shoreline, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The west ramp area is designated as a no-wake zone to ensure safer launching conditions near the boat ramp.

Shadehill Reservoir supports diverse fish populations including walleye, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, northern pike, yellow perch, and common carp, making it popular with anglers. The site is part of the larger Shadehill Recreation Area, managed by the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks, which provides camping, picnic areas, swimming facilities, and a trailer dump station.
