About This Access Site
Hirz Bay Boat Ramp on Shasta Lake
Hirz Bay provides a well-equipped boat ramp and launch site for accessing the vast waters of Shasta Lake. This three-lane ramp is usable until the lake level drops about 75 feet, with a two-lane ramp remaining viable until 95 feet of drawdown. The launch area features a paved parking lot with 61 spaces, lighting, and a courtesy dock to assist with loading and unloading.

As part of the Hirz Bay recreation complex, this site offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters to explore Shasta Lake. The lake is a large reservoir covering over 30,000 acres, providing ample room for a variety of water activities. Nearby Pine Point Campground provides camping options for those looking to spend more time on the water. Visitors should be aware that the ramp may close during severe weather conditions or when the parking area reaches capacity.
