Located on the southern end of 451-acre Shawnee Lake in Schellsburg, the Kegg Run Launch Area provides a convenient access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators. This single-lane concrete ramp features gravel parking accommodating approximately a dozen vehicles with boat trailers, making it ideal for small to medium-sized paddling groups. The launch area sits on a secluded finger of the lake, offering a quieter alternative to the park's other boat launch facilities.
Shawnee Lake welcomes all non-motorized and electric motorboat use, making it well-suited for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. The main boat dock and launch ramp at this access area are ADA accessible. The lake's 451-acre expanse provides ample room for paddling exploration, with organized group camping and tenting areas nearby for those planning extended visits. The site is easily accessible via US 30 and PA 96, which pass through the park.
