About This Access Site
Sheep Bridge Campground offers a boat ramp providing direct access to the Deschutes River above Wickiup Reservoir, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. The campground is located approximately 60 miles southwest of Bend via the Cascade Lakes Highway, in a scenic Cascade Mountain setting. A free boat ramp is available for camper use, along with basic facilities including picnic tables, campfire rings, drinking water, and vault toilets.

The site provides access to both the river and the 11,200-acre Wickiup Reservoir, which allows both motorized and non-motorized boats. This area offers good fishing opportunities, particularly for rainbow trout, with the reservoir's warm surface water and cooler deep channels creating favorable conditions. The campground has multiple sites ranging from large group accommodations to smaller individual spots, allowing flexibility for paddlers planning multi-day trips or day-use visits.

**Note:** Contact the facility at 541-323-1746 before visiting, as the campground has experienced closures. Water access may be seasonal (typically available from May onward, weather permitting). The site is located in Deschutes County, OR, about 2 miles east of Forest Road 44.
