About This Access Site
Shell Lake Municipal Campground offers a public boat landing providing excellent access to Shell Lake, Wisconsin's largest landlocked seepage lake. The 2,580-acre lake features clear water and reaches depths of approximately 36 feet, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The ramp is conveniently located near downtown Shell Lake and is accessible to both day-use visitors and campground patrons.
The facility includes several amenities that support water recreation, including a boat dock available for daily rental and a fish cleaning station. The campground itself is open seasonally from May 1st through October 15th and features clean facilities with hot showers and water/electric hookups on all sites. Camping reservations can be made online at www.washburncountyparks.us. For day-use boaters, be sure to contact the campground at 715-468-7846 to confirm current access and any seasonal service suspensions during cooler weather.
