About This Access Site
Located near Sagle in northern Idaho, Shepherd Lake offers a no-fee boat ramp and dock for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. The access point features an ADA-accessible restroom and fishing dock, with a boat ramp suitable for launching small watercraft. Electric motors only are permitted on the lake. The site is approximately 1.3 miles east of US Highway 95 via Sagle Road, then 1.4 miles further on Talache Road.

Shepherd Lake is a warm-water fishery popular for small boat recreation, with shoreline fishing access available along the west side of the lake. Paddlers should note that there is no cell phone reception at this location, and the nearest services (gas, supplies) are in Sagle, about 2 miles away. Swimming is available at the site, making it a good option for day-use recreational boating and paddling in the Bonner County area.
