Sheridan South is a convenient boat launch providing access to Sheridan Lake and Spring Creek in the Black Hills National Forest near Three Forks. The facility features a recently renovated concrete boat ramp with ADA accessibility, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The picnic area includes 93 picnic sites and restroom facilities, making it a good spot for a full day of recreation or a meal break.
The access point is located at the south end of Sheridan Lake, where paddlers can explore the lake or venture into Spring Creek. The area is popular for both powered and non-motorized boating, as well as shore fishing. This makes it an ideal base for a variety of water activities, and the proximity to Black Hills attractions—including Mount Rushmore and nearby Pactola Reservoir—adds appeal for visitors exploring the region. Note that camping is available at Pactola Reservoir Campground (reservable) within 10 miles if you plan an extended visit.
