Sherwood Point offers convenient access to Lake Malone, a 788-acre impoundment located on the north shore near Greenville in Muhlenberg County. The ramp is situated adjacent to Shady Cliff Marina and provides a straightforward launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. A $5 launch fee applies, and the ramp operates during daylight hours only. The facility is accessed via KY 176 east of Greenville, then KY 973 west toward Lake Malone State Park.
Lake Malone supports a healthy fishery with largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish, making it popular for anglers and recreational boaters alike. Paddlers should note that a Kentucky Fishing License is required if fishing. The surrounding area offers additional amenities including camping, picnic facilities, and a beach at the state park.
