About This Access Site
Silver Lake in Cowlitz County offers year-round public access via a single-lane concrete boat ramp at the WDFW facility on Camp Black Mountain Road. The ramp includes a small dock to assist with launching. Note that a Washington State Discover Pass is required for parking at this location. The site features one parking lot with ADA-accessible parking and two restrooms (though ADA facilities are not available). Hand launches are not available at this access point.
Silver Lake is subject to a 10 horsepower motor restriction, making it ideal for paddlers and smaller vessels. The lake supports populations of largemouth bass, yellow perch, black crappie, and brown bullhead catfish, attracting both recreational anglers and paddlers. The boat ramp can be somewhat difficult to locate, so watch carefully for signage along SR-504. Camping is not permitted at the access site itself, though alternative accommodations are available through Henley's Resort on the northeast shore.
