Silver Lake State Park in Northwood, Worth County offers a well-developed boat launch suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The access features a hard surface concrete ramp, parking lot, dock, and fishing jetty. Public restrooms (flush toilets) are available on-site, making this a convenient staging area for paddling trips. To reach the access from Northwood, take Highway 105 west and then head north on either Wheelerwood Road or Finch Avenue to Silver Lake Road, continuing west about one mile.
Silver Lake supports a variety of fish species including largemouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, and bluegill, making it popular with anglers as well as paddlers. The lake is best known for excellent bluegill fishing in May and June, with 8- to 10-inch fish being plentiful. The site is ideal for day-use paddling and fishing activities, with improved camping facilities (electric hookups, running water, and showers) available for those planning overnight trips.
