About This Access Site
The Sixes River Store boat ramp provides access to the Sixes River in a quiet, forested setting near the small community of Sixes. Located approximately 11 miles inland from U.S. 101 (about 5 miles north of Port Orford), the launch offers a convenient put-in for kayakers and canoeists exploring this scenic coastal river. The area is dominated by big-leaf maple, oak, and Douglas-fir forest, creating a peaceful paddling environment with opportunities for wildlife viewing and fishing.

The Sixes River Store is a local resource for paddlers, offering fishing information and shuttle services (call 541-332-6666). If you're planning an extended stay, the nearby Sixes River Campground and Edson Creek Campground both have campsites and additional boat ramps available. Day-use facilities and additional access points are located across the road at the main recreation area. This location works well for both day trips and as a base for longer river explorations.
