**Location & Access**
This state-maintained boat ramp is located on Sand Dam Road on the northwestern shore of Smith and Sayles Reservoir in Glocester, Rhode Island. Turn onto Sand Dam Road and follow it 0.4 miles to the ramp on the left near the road's end. The site is also known as the Smith & Sayles Fishing Area and serves as a hand-carry launch point and portage location.
**Boating Information**
Smith and Sayles Reservoir spans approximately 4.6 miles and is situated in the Chepachet River sub-basin, which drains into the Branch River. **Important restriction: Motors exceeding 10 horsepower are prohibited** at this access point. For paddlers seeking better hand-carry launch conditions, an alternative access with a slab boat ramp and parking is available on the west side of the reservoir, where the shoreline is also more suitable for launching kayaks and canoes.
