Sneads Landing on Smokehouse Lake

Sneads Landing provides access to Smokehouse Lake and the upper Aucilla River in Jefferson County's Atlantic Coastal Plain region. To reach the site, take Ashville Highway (146) east from Monticello for approximately 9 miles, then turn south after crossing the bridge over the upper portion of the lake. This location serves as a gateway to a scenic natural area within the Upper Aucilla Conservation Area.

**Important Note:** The boat ramp area has undergone recent construction improvements by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to enhance public access. Before visiting, check current status with FWC or contact local authorities, as the ramp may have had temporary closures during construction. Once reopened, this will be a primary access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters exploring the Aucilla River system in this region.
