Located on the sheltered west side of San Juan Island in Mitchell Bay, Snug Harbor offers a protected boat launch and marina facilities ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring the San Juan Islands. The calm waters of Mitchell Bay provide a safe paddling environment, and the marina serves as a convenient staging point for day trips or overnights. The facility includes moorage, a boat launch, general store, and on-site accommodations including cabins and campsites.
This location is strategically positioned for water recreation opportunities throughout the region. Paddlers can access excellent wildlife viewing areas, including orca whale watching routes and Turn Point's scenic vistas of Haro Strait and the Canadian Gulf Islands. The marina is one of only two on San Juan Island's west side and offers proximity to San Juan Island National Historical Park's historic sites and natural features, including native prairie and saltwater shorelines.
