About This Access Site
The South Bend Boat Ramp provides convenient access to the lower Willapa River from a small waterfront park located on the west end of town, adjacent to U.S. Route 101 near the 101 Public House. The facility includes both a boat ramp and a dedicated kayak launch dock, making it suitable for various watercraft. Amenities include picnic areas and restroom facilities, with mooring floats available for boaters.

This is an excellent put-in for exploring the lower Willapa River and its confluence areas. Paddlers can venture upstream into scenic side channels or downstream into the broader bay system. **Note:** At extreme low water, the dock may be unusable, making the boat ramp the only viable launch option. Plan your visit accordingly if paddling during low tide periods. The location provides access to a relatively gentle, lower-river paddling environment compared to the upper fork sections near Raymond.
